Bronwin has a sultry voice that lends itself well to devotional chanting, and many of the other reviews of the album state what a calming effect this music has on them. Pilgrim Heart was my first chanting cd I received from my wife as a birthday present. It sat on the shelf for almost a year before I really began listening to it. But once I got into it, I couldn’t stop listening. It has a unique quality from his newer albums. It may be because it was my first that I’m so partial to it, but it is by far my favorite Krishna Das album. Many of the chants are Indian chants in a classic call and response. Krishna Das sings from the heart, and if you enjoy chanting music, you should definitely pick this one up. Purchase Krishna Das – Pilgrim Heart.
