<h2>What is Guided Meditation?</h2>
<p>Guided meditation is where one person actively guides another person into a state of relaxation and meditation through the use of visualizations and guided imagery. The best thing about this is, you don&#8217;t have to &#8216;work&#8217; to get into a deep state of meditation. All you have to do is listen and follow the instructions as they&#8217;re given.</p>
<p>The drawbacks are, many people don&#8217;t know where to begin, and finding an expert to guide you is difficult. However, there are a couple ways you can use the scripts on this page to get arounnd these drawbacks. Here&#8217;s how&#8230;</p>
<h2>Using a Guided Meditation Script</h2>
<p>Guided meditation scripts give you everything you need to help create a beneficial meditation experience. They&#8217;re basically written out, word-for-word. All you do is follow them.Here&#8217;s how you might use the meditation scripts on this page:</p>
<p>1. Read the script, commit it to memory, and then guide yourself through it to your best ability. This gets easier the more you do it.</p>
<p>2. Practice reading the script. Then record yourself speaking the script. After you&#8217;ve recorded it, play the recording to guide yourself into meditation.</p>
<p>3. Find a friend who has a nice voice and have them record themselves speaking the script. Then use the recording to guide yourself into meditation.</p>
<p>4. Find a friend to read the script to you, or you might read it to them.</p>
<h2>The Secret to Visualization</h2>
<p>Guided meditations require what&#8217;s called visualization. It&#8217;s where you use the power of your mind to visualize something that&#8217;s being described.Some people believe they cannot visualize, and this discourages them from trying a guided meditation. However, you should know that not everyone &#8217;sees&#8217; things when they visualize. And this brings us to the all important secret to visualization&#8230;</p>
<p>Seeing, hearing, and feeling are all valid ways of &#8216;visualizing&#8217; something. And its important to recognize that every person uses each of these senses to a greater or lesser degree. This means that while others may actually &#8217;see&#8217; images, much like in a dream, you may or may not. The type of input that you respond to best is unique to you, and probably is a combination of all three types: visual, auditory and kinesthetic. It might look something like this:</p>
<p>Visual: 20% Auditory: 30% Kinesthetic: 50%</p>
<p>What does this mean? Well, if you&#8217;re reading a script, and it says, &#8220;<span style="text-decoration: underline;">hear</span> the sounds of the waves,&#8221; that may work for an auditory person, but not for someone who&#8217;s more visual. So if you&#8217;re visual, simply replace the auditory verb for a visual one. For example &#8220;<span style="text-decoration: underline;">picture</span> ocean waves washing upon a sandy beach.&#8221;</p>
