Thank you so much for posting this! I might actually re-post this on my blog!

I'm brand new to yoga and I just bought a mat and want to make sure I take good care of it. I wanted something natural, and affordable I could make at home. This is PERFECT! Thank-you!

My daughter has a couple yoga studios and we were looking for something to refresh the many rental mats used consistantly throughout the day with little time for drying. Also, the area where student mats are stored becomes quite unpleasantly aromatic. I made up the solution above only in the proportions as follows: 20 cups water, 1/2 tbsp tea tree oil, 1 cup witch hazel and 3/4 tsp lemongrass. Because this would not just be used on a personal mat, I increased the water substantially. I used a hard plastic measuring cup to fill the spray bottles. I was surprised to discover the plastic had partially disintegrated and became sticky. As my portion just had an increased amount of water, I was surprised at this result. Has anyone else had this result? Which ingredient caused this or is it just the combination? This reaction to the plastic measuring cup really took me back...Thanks for your info. It does smell wonderful though.

When I saw this video, I realized I could clean my yoga mat with the same product that I use to clean my masage table. I use Young Living's Theives essential oil spray to clean my yoga mat. Its made of a mix of Rosemary, Clove, Cinnamon Bark and Eucalyptus oils and it smells awesome. It does have a bit of alcohol in it, but it hasn't dried out my yoga mat, maybe because it is combined with the essential oils which balance out the drying affects of the alcohol. i take a wet cloth rag and spray Theives 6-10 times on my yoga mat, then wipe it down with the cloth. It gets rid of those smells, keeps any bacteria/fungus/mold on my mat at bay, and the next time I unroll my mat, I get an aromatherapy treatment! Thanks for the idea! My yoga mat doesn't smell funky anymore! :)
